From June to August, blackberry flowers will develop into red fruits that you’ll harvest successively once they obtain their distinct deep blue, almost black color. After the August harvest, trim the previous year’s canes that bore fruit, and then in springtime, prune young canes again and shorten the bush’s side branches that will, even with cutting, reach 2 m. Help its growth, and your picking, with two wires, at heights of 0.8 and 2 m, stretched between two 2.5 m-high pillars. Plant the seedlings in spring or autumn in rows spaced 2.5 m and facing north-south, and make sure to supply shallow roots with enough water in the summer, which you will drain if needed.
